A Note From Tom
I have visited these lodges many times to photograph for myself and find them most rewarding. Each lodge is located at a different elevation, drawing in a totally different variety of birds, especially hummingbirds. It should be easy to record 30 to 35 different species of hummingbird as well as numerous other rainforest birds like trogons, flowerpiercers, and tanagers.

Any telephoto lens in the 300mm to 400mm range or larger should be enough to do the job. A flash would help but is not always needed. A shorter medium telephoto lens or macro lens would work well in the butterfly garden. A tripod is also a positive to have on the trip.

Photograph a vairety of birds such as hummingbirds, trogons, flowerpiercers, and tanagers.
