At the Crossroads for Science Education – NSTA Indianapolis Conference

Mar 22, 2012| by administrator

Where in the world would a science educator or expert like to be from March 29 to April 1?

Yes, some might answer wonderful places in North and South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia, and Antarctica. Others might answer a particular lab, study or classroom. These are no doubt all excellent choices. But what is the correct answer?

It’s Indianapolis, Ind. Not what you were expecting, right?

Holbrook Travel will pack up and meet the National Science Teachers Association to attend NSTA’s “At the Crossroads for Science Education” conference.

It may not be as glamorous as Rome or as exciting as the Amazon Rainforest, but it is the place to be to be right in the middle of education and brilliant initiatives. It promises to be a conference full of enthusiasm, ideas, and energy – no pun intended.

Topics ranging anywhere from climate change to nutritional sciences will fill the days with coveted information and excellent opportunities to meet the highest professionals in many scientific fields.

As a leading educational travel provider, Holbrook Travel will be an exhibitor at the conference talking about our academic travel options and unique professional development programs.  This conference allows us to hear about the latest about new concepts and programs to integrate into our travels as well as network for our trips, clients, and partners.

Find our booth and say hello! We're very excited to be attending this year’s conference in Indianapolis and look forward to meeting the leading educators and experts.

Next question. Where should a curious, excited educator find himself or herself from July 23 to Aug. 1?

Correct answer: This traveler should be exploring Costa Rica on Holbrook Travel and NSTA’s “An Introduction into Global Inquiry and Investigation: A Costa Rican Field Study” program.

This Costa Rica Professional Development 2012 program is full of opportunities for inquiry, field-based research and applications to life, environmental and earth sciences.

We are partnering with NSTA, the Monteverde Institute, the Sea Turtle Conservancy, and the GLOBE program to bring a tremendous program to inquisitive and adventurous educators.

Experience Costa Rica beginning in San Jose traveling to Tortugero, Arenal and Monteverde.

Educational activities such as collecting data, analyzing findings and participating in inquiry-based learning modules will allow professionals to gain experience in the field while sharing tips and techniques with each other. The idea behind this program is learning how this knowledge and the methods used can be translated into classroom activities.

Holbrook Travel continues to emphasize the importance of international studies and provides leading programs allowing professionals and travelers alike to experience wonder and amazement firsthand. Join us for an exciting spring and summer beginning in Indianapolis. We’ll see you there!
