Members of Holbrook Travel’s team will be making a trip to Orlando, Florida, for the National Marine Educators Associations’ 2016 Annual Conference from June 27 to 30. The conference will take place at Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld.
Attendees can expect presentations on everything from the significant role of oceanography in our lives to the state of global shark populations. Among those presenting is one of Holbrook’s travelers, Karen Burns, an education specialist at the Virginia Aquarium. Burns will be giving a presentation on June 30 at 3 p.m. where she will discuss organizing ecotravel for institutions. She has traveled numerous times with Holbrook to places like Argentina, Belize, China, Costa Rica, Cuba, Galapagos Islands, Mexico, Panama, and Tanzania.
Presenters can expect to see formal and informal educators from high schools, public aquariums, non-profit NGOs, and government agencies as attendees. The attendees will spend five days networking at several meet-ups, learning from the variety of marine-focused sessions and sharing information at meetings.
NMEA's mission is to make the world of water both fresh and salt known, and to bring together marine educators from around the world to promote awareness and education of the global marine environment through its annual conference.
If you are in the area or plan on attending, stop by the exhibition area to greet members of our sales team. For more information about the conference, visit http://www.marine-ed.org/page/conferences.
