Costa Rica | Road Scholar Trip Extension: Exploring Tortuguero

Upon arrival at San Jose International Airport you will be met outside of baggage claim and will transfer to the Wyndham Herradura for overnight. Afternoon on your own.

Early morning, 6AM, you will be met in your San Jose hotel for travel to Tortuguero. Admire the biodiversity of an astonishing protected area in Costa Rica as we drive by Braulio Carrillo National Park, a primary forest in 95% of its extension. We will be stopping en route to enjoy a taste of our delicious Costa Rican breakfast. Followed by transfer to the dock where you will board a comfortable boat. Let this extraordinarily exotic paradise enchant you, as you travel along the Tortuguero Canals. Have a one-in-a-lifetime experience in this unique place surrounded by a great variety of flora and fauna of breathtaking beauty. Enjoy a refreshing cocktail and a delicious Lunch as we welcome you to our hotel. After lunch, enjoy nature in its entire splendor by touring the canals and taking your best photos. This evening enjoy a delightful dinner at the lodge. There is an OPTIONAL NIGHT TOUR: (July to September) Walk on the beach and admire the spawning of Tortuga Verde.

This morning discover the flavors of Costa Rica with breakfast at the Lodge. Followed by a walking tour the Lodge's private trail. This afternoon after lunch visit the museum, the beach and the small and picturesque city of Tortuguero. This evening enjoy a delightful dinner at the lodge. There is an OPTIONAL NIGHT TOUR: (July to September) Walk on the beach and admire the spawning of Tortuga Verde.

This morning enjoy a delicious breakfast at the Lodge. Around 930AM you will depart for San Jose. You will stop at El Ceibo Restaurant for lunch before your later afternoon arrival to San Jose.
