Upon arrival in San José you will be met by your driver and transfer to Sarapiqui. Receive an orientation to the lodge and facilities. After dinner, walk with a naturalist searching the grounds and surrounding trails for nocturnal wildlife.
This morning take a guided hike in Selva Verde's Rainforest Reserve. After the hike, meet with the Sarapiquí Conservation Learning Center (SCLC). The SCLC is a nonprofit organization aimed to support local conservation through educational programming and community development. Receive an orientation to the community service projects to be experienced and then begin work in one of the nearby communities. Have lunch at the lodge. This afternoon, enjoy whitewater rafting on the Sarapiquí River. The river has a gentle current with several minor class I, II, and III rapids. A professional river guide escorts all rafting trips and all of the necessary safety equipment (helmet, life jackets, etc.) is provided along with a lesson on rafting and safety instructions and procedures.
This morning continue working with the SCLC on a community service project. After lunch at the lodge, enjoy the excitement of a zipline canopy adventure.
Today, finalize the community service project and then enjoy a bit of cultural interaction with the community. Afterwards check-out and depart for San Jose. Farewell dinner this evening at the hotel.
