Holbrook is looking for a leader for its Global Sales team, the area of the company focused on cultivation of clients and the relationships that drive our Global Sales business. The ideal person for this position is an entrepreneurial and passionate individual who is motivated by the areas of interest that Holbrook connects with; travel, environment, education, sustainability, and global literacy. Building on a solid reputation and experience, the Sales Director’s job will be to personally cultivate key clients, lead a core sales team, as well as collaborate with other teams and technology for sustained growth in Sales.
Started in 1974 by Giovanna and Juan Holbrook, Holbrook Travel specializes in offering quality educational and natural history programming to Latin America, East Africa and points beyond. Holbrook works with educational institutions, nature organizations, and other specialized groups and individuals to create experiences that last a lifetime. Today Holbrook is still family owned and operated, with Andrea Holbrook at the helm.
A pioneer in ecotourism, Holbrook founded and operates Selva Verde Lodge and Private Reserve in the rainforest of Sarapiquí, Costa Rica. Protecting over 500 acres of primary forest, Selva Verde is a gateway to the magical world of the tropical rainforest and is a frequent site within Holbrook programming as well as guests from around the globe.
This position is based in the headquarters, Gainesville, Florida.
Responsibilities:
• Attract, motivate, develop, train, and energize a high-performing team
• Harness tools, technologies and support teams to lead innovation for sales, marketing, and customer service
• Build rapport/relationships over the phone and in person with a diversity of markets
• Travel domestically and internationally for the purpose of networking and business development
• Work with sales and marketing staff to understand brand positioning, new strategies, products, promotions and how best to present to client base
• Interface regularly with sales, product development, and operations to support in the design, development, and implementation of products and services
Requirements:
• Personal passion for educational and natural history travel and the ability to convey that to our community of staff, clients, partners, etc. to enlarge our community.
• Exceptional and proven leadership, selling and customer service skills
• Demonstrated success in managing key business relationships
• Demonstrated success in driving business improvement initiatives
• Demonstrated success in increasing sales figures
• Strong communication and presentation skills; negotiation and influencing skills
• International travel experience or experience abroad is strongly desired
• 2+ years people management experience leading a team
• Ability to embrace constant change
• Bachelor’s degree
Salary and Benefits:
Base Salary: TBD
50% health insurance premiums covered first & second year of employment for employee, 75% the third year, then 100% after completing 3 full years.
Dental coverage which includes 2 cleanings per year, x-rays, and additional benefits for more extensive procedures.
2 weeks paid vacation; 3 weeks after your 5th year of employment
6 paid holidays
